Episode IV with Sparrow & Barbossa

Sparrow & Barbossa is a dynamic DJ and producer duo based in Madrid, formed by Swiss-born Bryan Coletta and Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli.
Bryan, originating from a musical family, is a pianist. His father, the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta, collaborated with celebrated artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra. Emiliano was born and raised in Uruguay, a region heavily influenced by African colonies, and was profoundly shaped by the 'Candombes culture'—a pure African tribal rhythm from colonial times.

Their debut came in 2018 with their rendition of Mory Kante's classic "Yeke", released under Wired Records, which swiftly topped as a #1 Afro House track. In 2020, they released 'Nterini', a remix for Fatoumata Diawara on MoBlack Records, which became a #2 Afro House hit with approximately 2 million plays on Spotify. It was closely followed by "Morena", which became an Ibiza Anthem due to support from the likes of Keinemusik, Adam Port, &Me, and Rampa.
2021 saw the release of their debut album "Seven Seas" under DJ Chus' label "Redolent Music". Their collaboration with Dele Sosimi, Floyd Lavine, Josh Milan, Francis Coletta, Idd Aziz, and DJ Chus resulted in the track "Nyakua", which also climbed to a #1 Afro House single on Traxsource and amassed over 1 million Spotify plays. The single "Morena", featured in the album, became another Ibiza anthem, garnering support from Keinemusik, Adam Port, &Me, and Rampa. This album marked a significant milestone, setting a new direction in Sparrow & Barbossa's career.
In 2022, as the world began to reopen post the global pandemic, they launched their own record label "Tortuga Tribes", creating a platform and home for a community of artists and musicians from across Latin America, championing Caribbean House Music.
